Computerized Bite (Occlusal) Analysis

Dental Occlusion (Bite) is the contact between your teeth when you close your jaw. When this is out of balance (malocclusion), it leads to tooth and jaw pain, night time teeth grinding, neck pain & headaches and excessive wear of your teeth. Some people are lucky to be born with perfectly aligned teeth. Most are not, however, and often cope with crowded or crooked teeth, overbite, under-bite or even buck teeth for many years. These conditions are all various forms of malocclusion, more commonly known as ‘bad bite’. Malocclusion is often unattractive, but the problems it can create extend far beyond aesthetics, including chewing and speaking problems, risk of teeth decay and change in facial structure. While the perfect bite may not come naturally to most people, it is attainable

Modern Dentistry can correct a bad occlusion and bring your teeth in to balance again. But the first step is to discover exactly which teeth need attention and to what degree. The old method involves the equivalent of carbon paper to “record” the bite but here is a lot it cannot capture.

Thanks to the T-Scan III Bite Analysis System, our cutting-edge tool used to diagnose malocclusions, we can now analyze a ‘bad bite’ with remarkable precision. By simply biting down on a paper thin sensor, your bite is recorded in our computer, complete with series of images and graphs that provide us with everything we need to know to make a well-informed diagnosis; and provide an appropriate and precise treatment. With accuracy the T-Scan brings to our practice, you can rest assured that the treatment we recommend will provide the results you deserve as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
